REMINDER: Coach and Volunteer Certification Deadlines

Teams are starting to be formed and all will be playing games soon enough. It is time to make sure that all your Coaches, Managers and Trainers have the proper certification to be on the bench and ice.

 IMPORTANT NOTES.

 1. December 1, 2014 is the deadline for certification. On this date it is the volunteers and Minor Hockey Associations responsibility to remove un-certified individuals from the bench and ice.

 2. Child Abuse Registry Checks(CAR) need to be sent NOW to have the results back by Dec. 1st, 2014. There is no cost for this so no excuses. It is the Volunteers responsibility to have the results on Beth Reid desk before this date so she can have it entered on the HCR. Until it is on the HCR the Volunteer will not be approved.

 3. Criminal Records Checks. More and more people are being required to have fingerprints done for their CRC. For the smaller communities this can take some time. Those that don't have this before Dec. 1st, 2014 can forward their letter along with a receipt for the fingerprinting to Beth Reid so she can put it on a spreadsheet so HNS knows fingerprinting is in progress.

 4. Head Coaches are responsible to make sure that no un-certified person is on the bench or ice after December 1, 2014. Failure to do so can result in an Indefinite Suspension for having un-certified staff on the ice or bench.

5. NEW Coaches at the IP or Novice Division must take the Intro Coach. At least one Coach at IP or Novice must have the HU-Safety along with the other requirements for any Coach to be approved.

 6. TEAM APPROVAL REQUEST needs to be clicked as team officials are added so they can be checked.

 7. TRAINERS are not permitted on the ice for practice other than to attend to a injured person. To be on the ice staff must have all the proper Coach Requirements.
